About III-A

In 2011, Idaho cities formed the III-A (Idaho Independent Intergovernmental Authority) Trust to combat the excessive annual rate increases delivered by the insurance industry. We have a proven reputation for providing enhanced, progressive benefits for Idaho public employees. Our staff is committed to our members and are accessible 24/7 to address any circumstance that may arise. The partnership among our Idaho Public Agencies ensures reliable and stable funding rates.

The founding agencies are Aberdeen, American Falls, Arco, Blackfoot, Cascade, Council, Donnelly, Downey, Dubois, Fruitland, Grangeville, Homedale, Ketchum, Kooskia, Lava Hot Springs, Menan, Minidoka Irrigation, New Meadows, New Plymouth, Nezperce, Oakley, Paul, Potlatch, St. Anthony, Victor, Wilder, Chubbuck, Montpelier, Ammon, Burley, Hailey, and Soda Springs.

The Trust began offering benefits in March 2012. On February 9, 2011, the III-A Board of Trustees was selected to govern the Trust.  There were 11 Trustees appointed … today there are 13.  Learn More About Joining the III-A!
