DESCRIPTION:This 3-day course brings peer support team members that have been selected by their department on a volunteer basis. Throughout this class\, participants will acquire supportive skills which are designed to help them assist their co-workers who are experiencing a variety of life crisis situations and feel comfortable talking to someone who understands the rewards and challenges that come with working as a public safety professional.\nTraining objectives:\n• Prevalence and scope of mental health issues with public safety professionals\n• How to develop and implement a peer support program\n• Crisis intervention and basic CISM skills\n• Self-care\, public perception\, and resilience building \n  \n3 CE Credits will be given to FF/EMS\n3 Idaho POST credits will be given to LE \n  \nRSVP to KandiceDickinson@iii-a.org or via text at 208-739-3946 by October 20th.
